Beginner: Integration with SugarCRM

You can easily integrate Joomla with SugarCRM by taking the following steps:

1. Create a new workflow or edit an existing one:

Go to the Workflows Manager. To add a new Workflow, click on the "New" button in the toolbar. To edit an existing Workflow, click on the Workflow name or click the checkbox next to the Workflow and then click on the "Edit" button in the toolbar.

To create a new task, right-click on the Workflow name and the context menu will be displayed. Now click on "Add task."

Type the name of the task for example "Lead Capture" and press the "Enter" key. Double-click on the task name, a popup window will be opened with all types of tasks you can create.

Select the task "Integrate with SugarCRM." Select "Leads" in SugarCRM module drop-down list, select "create" in the Task drop-down menu and click on save button.

2. Associate fields with SugarCRM fields:

In this step we will associate or map a fields that we want to capture with SugarCRM fields. Here is how to associate fields.

For example associate fields with SugarCRM Leads fields as follows:

first_name with first_name
last_name with last_name
phone with phone_home
email with email1
fax with phone_fax
office_phone with phone_work

3. Select the Workflow and fields in the Contact Form:

Go to the Contact Manager. To add a new Contact, click on the "New" button in the toolbar. To edit an existing Contact, click on the Contact name or click the Contact checkbox and then click on the "Edit" button in the toolbar.

In the General tab, select the Workflow.

In Layout tab select all fields you have used in association and that you will used to capture information into SugarCRM

When you have finished fields selection click on save button. Go to frontend and submit the contact form. If the form is submitted successfully the workflow will be executed and and submitted data will be captured in SugarCRM Leads Table.
